Hotel Adler in Warth
Holidays on the Arlberg
For our guests - all this and more!
Situated at an altitude of 1675 metres above sea level, the Hochtannberg pass is where the Arlberg, Allgäu, Bregenzerwald and Lech Valley regions all meet. For over 300 years a house has occupied the lonely spot where the Adler now stands. It wasn’t until recent years that the lifts and cable cars surrounding it were built to keep it company.
In December 2013 another decisive step was taken: the introduction of the modern Auenfeld Jet, which provides a valuable connecting service linking us to the Arlberg ski areas of Lech, Zürs, Warth and Schröcken. This was brilliant news for our guests! Now you can stay in the heart of the Warth-Schröcken ski area, boasting one of the best snow records anywhere, and be a hop, skip and a jump away from the extensive Ski-Arlberg complex, where a total of 88 lifts and cable cars, 350 kilometres of piste and an unsurpassed selection of off-piste and deep snow possibilities are all yours on a plate! In 2017 the circle was closed: the "Run of Fame" now links Warth to St. Anton, making the Arlberg one of the largest ski areas on earth.
As if that were not enough, the Adler also commands access to a wealth of fabulous cross-country ski circuits and walking tracks from Warth to the Körber lake. If you fancy a change from the huge Arlberg ski arena, and want to explore the unspoilt mountain scenery on touring skis or snow shoes, this is the place!
This is the place! Right behind the hotel Adler is the Widderstein, an amazing ski area with a huge selection of off-piste tours. Our hotelier, Markus, who is also a mountain guide and ski instructor, knows the area like the back of his hand, and offers a free weekly "taster" ski tour for hotel guests. In the warmer months, our hotel in Warth-Schröcken makes the perfect base for a summer holiday on the Arlberg.
Charming, modern and oozing character
Over the years, the Adler has developed from a simple mountain hut into a small hotel. But it isn’t the number of stars, restaurant ratings or luxury items that define the character of the Adler. Our hotel still retains its original atmosphere of a traditional mountain hut and its former inhabitants.
We have kept the charm of the ancient parlour and developed a clever combination of old buildings and modern architectural style: open fireplaces co-exist with solar energy; natural stone walls with free Wifi. We offer sparkling family apartments alongside classic functional hotel rooms. Our food and wine are of a standard so good as to ensure many guests return year after year clamouring for more! We don’t pretend to be a spa hotel, although we do have an extensive new sauna complex which really takes some beating; we are not a dedicated baby hotel, but we welcome families on winter sports holidays; we do not provide a party location, but we take pride in offering a tasteful ambience for our adult guests. A holiday in Hotel Adler. For many people it’s the perfect choice – but it’s not for everyone!
